bitingcynicismme: I is reading more about the chapter
about how it suggests Zero would have gone into Hunter mode if Yuuki bit him and how he pretty much tells her this
also about how Zero's tattoo acts as a brand and tames him through the Association
since he took Yuuki and Aidou to the the HA base (wtf Zero?), he has to carry them inside for the anti-vampire mechanisms to not go off

me: seriously, well I have injured vampires, I'll just TAKE THEM TO THE HUNTERS :)
clearly that is a plan!
Chris: And if Yuuki bit him, he'd have "legal rights" to kill her because she didn't get his permission.
me: true!
Chris: lol best plan...!!
me: I think Zero's coldness while clearly getting Yuuki out of harm's way is a perfect balance
he hates vampires. he's frustrated, she's a pureblood. he hates how his blood yearns for her. so I think his reaction is perfect and understandable and not half as angsty as when he just outright rejected her at the ball
Chris: That's a good way of looking at it. He DID help her.
me: but being bitten by a vampire is the NUMBER ONE VIOLATION is Zero's mind
Chris: Lots of interpretations of this chapter floating around.

and that Yuuki even thought about it, was driven by what she is to consider it, bothered him. BUT he did acknowledge that she didn't
so it works both ways

me: because the blood-drinking is so romantic as far as Yuuki and Kaname are concerned, people forget that it completely destroyed Zero's life and has ever been used to make him suffer. so I see it less of him being a jerk and simply being defensive because WTF

When I read things like "Zero should be less mean about vampires...!" I go "WELL.... HE HAS THAT RIGHT..."
me: yes, Zero is INSANELY damaged
and it's not like anything happened to fix that. it only got worse
Chris: This manga isn't flowers and ponies except when there are flowers and ponies lol
me: Kaitou even says he's emotionally unstable
you don't just snap out of that
Chris: And yeah Zero's instablitity is A+
yeah!
me: Yuuki is still struggling to figure out who/what she is
Chris: yeah that's what I meant lol /unclear
Trying to find her place, or make it as she tries going to purebloods.
me: the manga has made no secret about how much the vampire thing with Yuuki hurt him ESPECIALLY
and then to have the other Hunter say she tamed him
Chris: yeaaaaaahh
me: it's got to do bad things to his head

me: but yes, I think fans should focus on the subtext. Zero says a lot of harsh stuff. but what does he do? I mean, he didn't have to help either of them. so I think he's just really really torn and constantly dealing with that. it's obvious he misses her. I think the real reason he stays in school is because it gives him that stability/familiarity and it comforts him since it was what made him happy
