I've been mulling over things for the last few days, as I try to assess what the ending of Vampire Knight actually means for Zero. Because this is my canon!Zero account, I decided to post them here instead of on hunting. I have many mixed feelings so this will pretty much be me trying to make sense of them. People may disagree with me on points (I'm going to say a lot of negative things about Hino, Zero, Zero/Yuuki and Yuuki), and that's cool. This is simply my own way of dealing with this so I can play my character.

First things first, all I have ever cared about in this manga since the time-skip was Zero's happiness. I don't care about pairings and true loves or any of that. As such, there will be very little attention paid to Kaname in this, including his "go forth and prosper" blessing. So this essay-thing is going to focus on assessing Zero's happiness relative to the Vampire Knight finale because honestly all we have is one picture and his children to go on.

So I said the other week that I'd essay on Zero and then STUFF HAPPENED, and I guess I have to put my money where my mouth is. Here goes. Beware rambling and inevitable incoherency.

As everybody probably guessed, the main focus of this is Zero's mentality, as it is slightly more complex than lol racist, like I joke around about.
